Meet Dr. Kennedy – Passionate Chiropractor and Animal Chiropractic Specialist
Dr. Shannon Kennedy is a dedicated chiropractor with a unique dual focus on human and animal chiropractic care. Originally from Shawnee, Kansas, Dr. Kennedy’s journey into chiropractic care began with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Chemistry from the University of Central Missouri, where she discovered her passion for holistic health and well-being.
Dr. Kennedy pursued her Doctor of Chiropractic degree at the prestigious Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, where she refined her skills and deepened her knowledge of chiropractic care. After graduation, she returned to Kansas to pursue her certification in animal chiropractic through the renowned Options for Animals College of Animal Chiropractic. Upon completing her training, Dr. Kennedy passed her board exam with the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association (AVCA), becoming a certified Animal Chiropractor.
With her AVCA certification in hand, Dr. Kennedy began her career as an Associate Chiropractor, working at a clinic specializing in pregnancy and pediatrics, as well as serving animals at a veterinary clinic. She has always believed in the power of chiropractic to improve quality of life—for people and pets alike.
In 2020, Dr. Kennedy followed her dream to the Phoenix area, where she found a new community and sunny skies. Practicing in multiple locations across the West Valley, including Luke Airforce Base, she quickly became a trusted provider for patients and families seeking a compassionate approach to health. Her commitment to animal chiropractic continued with mobile visits, bringing care directly to her clients’ homes.
In 2023/2024, Dr. Kennedy expanded her expertise further by earning a certification in Dry-Needling therapy, a specialized technique designed to alleviate pain and promote healing. This additional skill enhances her ability to provide comprehensive, customized care for her patients.
Today, Dr. Kennedy is thrilled to be at the helm of Sports & Family Care Clinic in Ahwatukee, Arizona. With over 25 years of history, the clinic provides her the perfect opportunity to expand her mission of delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a supportive and inclusive environment. In a traditionally male-dominated field, Dr. Kennedy’s journey has been marked by resilience and dedication, and she’s proud to serve her community with warmth and expertise.

For those seeking a gentler experience, especially first-time or nervous patients, Dr. Kennedy also offers the "Activator" method—using a gentle, hand-held adjusting tool to provide precise and comfortable adjustments. Dr. Kennedy is also highly experienced in providing gentle, effective adjustments for expectant mothers and infants alike!
